Health Questions

A recent study at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland found that the cancer danger of vaping is almost as low as for nicotine replacement therapies like patches and gum — less than one percent. “This study should put to rest any doubt within the tobacco control movement about whether vaping greatly reduces health risk compared to smoking,” wrote Boston University’s Dr. Michael Siegel.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is a thick, sweet liquid, extracted from plants, and is primarily responsible for the vapor produced. It is traditionally employed in the following industries: Food, Pharma, Botanical, and personal care products.  Propylene Glycol (PG) is a colorless, non-toxic, odorless liquid, that is responsible for assisting in the delivery of the active ingredient(s), in our case this would be nicotine. The US FDA approves both compounds as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe).

Absolutely not!

This myth was created by a 2009 FDA press statement regarding electronic cigarettes. The FDA tested 18 cartridges from 2 companies. Of those 18 cartridges, 1 tested positive for a non-toxic amount of diethylene glycol (approximately 1%). While diethylene glycol is occasionally used in anti-freeze, the chemical is not a standard ingredient in e-cigarette liquid and it has not been found in any other samples tested to date.

The base liquid for e-cigarette liquid is usually propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is considered GRAS (Generally
Recognized As Safe) by the FDA and EPA. While it is also sometimes found in anti-freeze, it is actually added to make the anti-freeze less toxic and safer for small children and pets. Propylene glycol is a common ingredient found in
many of the foods we eat, cosmetics we use and medications we take. It is also used in the fog machines used in theaters and night clubs.

No. Nicotine is the addictive active ingredient found in cigarettes, therefore is used in e-liquids. Studies have shown that about 50 of the (over) 4,000 combusted chemicals in traditional cigarettes may cause cancer.

Sometimes, vapers have a dry mouth reaction to PG. Propylene glycol is a humectant, which in short means that it loves water. You can also choose a lower PG:VG to reduce dry mouth for those sensitive to PG. Also, stay hydrated!

No flame, no burning, therefore zero combustion takes places

Vaping addresses the addictive component of smoking, nicotine, without having to combust 600 ingredients into over 4,000 chemicals, with over 50 of them known to be cancer-causing

No risk of “second hand vape” as all that is vaporizing is the PG/VG and nicotine

No unpleasant smell that sticks to your clothing, car, home, breath. E-liquid

Satisfies your craving for nicotine

Allows for you to properly taper off nicotine by using different e-liquids with varying nicotine strength (0mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg, 24mg are standard strengths)

Enjoy breathing again!

No they can’t. Vaping at worst has trace amounts of Diacetly, the chemical that causes popcorn lung however, cigarettes do contain diacetyl (and acetoin). In fact, a lot of it. A regular cigarette smoker probably inhales more than 100 times as much diacetyl as any vaper. But there has never been a diagnosed case of popcorn lung in a smoker, except smokers who also inhaled diacetyl directly at one of the studied flavoring factories.

Vape Questions

Try a variable voltage battery —they tend to produce more vapor than standard batteries. Also consider purchasing lower ohm coils or try getting into rebuild-able atomizers. Drippers produce the most vapour.

A commercial tank takes prebuilt coils. Its easy to easy and great for beginner vapers. A RTA tank is a rebuidable tank, where the vaper can build his own coils to his liking and vape style. Its cheaper, but requires much more effort.

It’s a similar process and concept, however the actual use of a vape is very different from dragging on a cigarette. You will inhale and puff with a cigarette. However, intake with a vape, the vapor and nicotine, and exhale, but there is a difference in how you puff.

One of the key differences between CBD and THC is whether the cannabinoid will cause a euphoric effect, or “high,” when consumed.

THC is the cannabinoid people think of when they think of marijuana. It is a direct agonist of the endocannabinoid system’s cannabinoid 1 receptors (CB1), found primarily in the brain and the central nervous system. The psychoactive effect that most associate with recreational or medical marijuana use is exclusively brought about by activating CB1receptors.

CBD doesn’t bind with CB1 receptors and is actually is considered an antagonist of CB1agonists. This not only means that CBD can never cause a high, no matter how much is consumed, but that it also acts to suppress the CB1-activating qualities of compounds like THC.

Now most eliquid companies mix both PG and VG together to retain the advantages of the 2 ingredients. PG deliver you better flavor taste, stronger throat hit, and VG produce more vapors. The typical ratio of the PG and VG is 50/5060/40 and 70/30

MTL= Mouth To Lung. This is pretty much the first step most smokers will take, when switching to vaping. It is effectively the same method used to smoke ciggarettes, you draw the vapour into your mouth, then inhale to your lungs. Generally this method requires lower wattages, higher coil resistance, and a much tighter airflow, as a result the vapour will be quite thin.

DL= Direct Lung. This is where you basically inhale directly through the vape device, into your lungs. The setup requirements for this are the opposite of MTL, you will need higher wattages, lower coil resistance (Sub Ohm Vaping), and a much higher airflow setup. The result of this method will Generally produce a higher volume of dense vapour.

It is worth noting that when using DL, as the vapour is denser and reaches your lungs quicker, you will generally require a lower nicotine strength.

The H stands for High. The N stands for Normal and the S stands for Soft. Some vapes lets you choose the ramp up time of the coils to suite your vape style.

KANTHAL WIRE

As the most inexpensive wire it is very impressive considering how easy it is to work with and how long it lasts. You can easily flex and bend Kanthal as needed and the wire can withstand very high temperatures of up to a whopping 1,500 °C before it will actually start melting.

This is the perfect wire for starter vapers who want to build their own coils and even for seasoned vapers who may want to build single wire coils or fuse together with other wires to create claptons.

Unfortunately Kanthal will not give you as good flavor and vapor production as some of the other wires listed below.

NICHROME WIRE

Nichrome is a more advanced wire compared to Kanthal.

It is made up of nickel-chromium and heats up at much lower temperatures than Kanthal and as a result ramps up faster to produce vapor.

Because Nichrome wire for vaping doesn’t have Iron in it, the taste you get from the heading coils will be cleaner and smoother compared to Kanthal which does contain Iron.

Nichrome wire is recommended for experienced coil builders and it is also more expensive than Kanthal.

STAINLESS STEEL WIRE

Stainless steel wire is the perfect wire for temperature control vaping.

It is often referred to with the abbreviation SS which stands for Stainless Steel and is in it’s pure form. Stainless steel is very durable and as a result will last very long so you can keep using the same coils for a long time.

The ramp up time of stainless steel is very fast – faster than Nichrome and Kanthal together and on par with Titanium but doesn’t cool down as quick. Many vapers prefer stainless steel wire as their choice.

NICKEL WIRE

Nickel wire heats up the fastest of all vaping wires.

It is an amazing wire which is easy to work with and with the quickest ramp up time as well as wonderful flavor. Unfortunately due to the fast heating advantage, it also overheats very easily and can melt when it gets too hot.

Temperature control mode is the best mode to vape Nickel wire with so that you can fully control that aspect.

TITANIUM WIRE

Titanium wire for vaping heats up very quickly and cools down very quickly as well.

It is the most expensive vaping wire and is highly recommended only for advanced vapers with a great deal of experience with coil building and the technical aspects of vaping. There are known hazards with Titanium wire such as the speculation that titanium dioxide is released above 1200℉ (648℃) and the fire hazard it poses, making it prone to catching fire and hard to distinguish.

The preferred method of vaping Titanium is in temperature mode but Titanium wire is quite a new vaping wire and will only be supported by the newer mods available on the market. You may struggle to find Titanium wire though.

All vapes need the following replaced:

  • The coils
  • The Batteries
  • The Juice

All of those need to be replaced when needed in order to have a good vaping experience.

Batteries should be replaced when they no longer hold a voltage of atleast 4 volts and or, have any physical damage to them. The average battery gets around 300-400 recharges before it needs to be disposed.

A Ecig is a smoke free device, that burns a mixture of VG, PG and sometimes nicotine into a mist that can be inhaled similar to that of a real cigarette with much less carcinogens.

Ohms(Ω) is a measure of electrical resistance, and understanding ohms can be very beneficial for you as a vaper. … Ohms help vapers with understanding what wattage or voltage their replacement atomizers/coils can handle. A general rule of thumb would be the lower the ohm, the higher the wattage/voltage and vice versa.

Yes! What you hear is e-liquid inside the atomizer being heated by the atomizer.

Although the technology is called temperature control, there are no actual heat sensors or thermostats built into the device. What TC mods do is monitor coil resistance as it is heated. Every time a slight change in resistance is detected, the temperature control function automatically adjusts – reduce, restrict or totally cut off – power to prevent coil damage.

The average lifespan of a commercial coil is around 1 – 1.5 weeks if you are easy on your coils, and vape like you would smoke a cigarette. However, if you were to chain vape on a commercial coil you get around 3-5 days of use on a coil. It all depends on your vape style.

Your MOD has many different mechanisms that work together in order to facilitate the vaping experience. The battery’s voltage sends power to the coil, allowing it to heat up. When the coil has achieved the proper temperature, it will heat the e-liquid, turning it into vapor.

Because this coil gets so hot, it must be adequately saturated with juice so that the wick doesn’t burn out. Vaping with a coil that’s not saturated will result in a burnt taste and will not produce much vapor. Also, the wick of the coil will burn out, making it useless. A burnt-out coil must then be replaced.

That’s why it is so important to prime every new coil. Again, priming your coil is a process that involves saturating the coil with e-liquid and taking certain precautions to prevent the wick from burning out.

A common cause of burnt hits is when your coil has a hot spot which can cause the coil to partially glow red. It’s a very unpleasant and nasty vape! Hot spots can give you a metallic, burnt taste, even if your wicks were fully saturated

Another reason is a commercial coil that has been used for more then 1.5 weeks has a high chance of being burnt out and needs to be replaced.

Our customers report saving between 50-70% per month using e-cigarettes as a smoking alternative. It varies based on your usage, what you buy, how often you buy, and what brand of cigarette you smoking.

Yup! When we started this was also very confusing and overwhelming for us, however, it really isn’t. Let summarize the differences for you:

RBA Stands for Rebuidable Atomizers, with these atomizers you have to build the coil yourself. You will need to use Kanthal wire to wrap a coil, and choose your wicking material yourself, wheather it maybe cotton, ekowool or rayon the choice is yours. We also recommend you use a resistance checker when building coils on these devices, to test if its at the right OHM’s so you don’t damage your device that will be firing the atomizer, you get three kinds of these currently:

  • Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer ( RDA )
  • Rebuildable Tank Atomizer ( RBA )
  • Hybrid RBA

An RDA is a dripping atomizer, it has no storage for e-liquid ( tank ). Dripping atomizers are well known for the amazing vapour production and flavour however, you need to keep a bottle of juice in your pocket to top it off after 3-4 drags approximately. For some people the amazing vape quality its worth it for the hassel

An RTA is known for providing excellent flavour and way above average vapour production however, its still wont chase a RDA because the coil is further down. This is the most common rebuildable for ease of use.

Hybrid RBA’s are a mix of those two. Its a dripper style but will have a small tank, such as the 3D Atomizer.

What are Mech Mods?

Mechinical mods are battery tubes that fire the battery to the atomizer directly, there are no electronics in Mechinical mods, with that you can build very low ohm coils and do some real cloud chasing. However, with the lack of electronics to protect you this can be dangerous if you build to low and don’t use the correct batteries. Always check the Amp limit on the battery when building. Use a calculator such as the Vapours Tool Box found on Android and IOS to make sure you are in safe limits.

What are MODS?

Mods refer to electronic mods on our website. These are much safer then mechanical mods, and some say provide a better vape due to the lack of voltage drop that mechinical mods can produce. These mods, are very easy to use and are safe. We even have devices going as high as 200W. However, the average user wouldnt even use over 30W, so please be careful!

Please make sure you have connected the clearomizer ( the top piece ) to the battery and the center pin is making contact. Also be sure to have pressed it 5 times quickly to switch it on.

This means that your atomizer is flooded with e-liquid. Too much e-liquid causes saturation of the atty’s wick and heating coils, thus making vapor production very difficult as well as making a “bubbling” or ” gurgling” when the vapor attempts to pull (draw) from the device’s drip-tip.

Yes Indeed they do! However, some juices like nicotine salt juices work best in pod devices and MTL ( mouth to lung devices) not to mention salt juices in normal vape devices are extremely dangerous due to the high amounts of nicotine.
